Tiger is a magazine aimed at shedding more light on Asian American and Pacific Islander athletes. It examines the main events, the highlight reels, the stats and scores, and on a deeper level, the cultural discourses all within the context of AAPI sports. Most importantly, it focuses on the stories of the athletes—the people behind it all.

This project began with a survey of print publications across sports, news, and culture. The research revealed three distinct groups: general-interest sports magazines, publications focused on news and cultural commentary for a broad audience, and magazines centered on AAPI culture and identity.
When mapped in a positioning chart, these categories revealed a notable gap at the intersection of sports and AAPI culture. This gap became the foundation for the magazine’s concept.
